jata Cricket Betting Markets Overview

The three cricket formats and the most commonly seen competitions

Cricket fans in Bangladesh mainly bet on three formats. Each format has its own pace, strategy and variety of markets — so it is worth understanding the differences before you start betting.

T20

Just 20 overs per side — every ball can change the picture. The T20 format has the most popular betting markets in BPL, IPL and the T20 World Cup. Results come quickly, which makes live betting especially engaging here.

Fastest format

ODI (One Day International)

In a 50-over match there is more room for the situation to shift mid-way through. ODIs are in highest demand during tournaments like the ICC World Cup and Asia Cup. Toss, partnership and powerplay markets are especially relevant in this format.

Medium-length match

Test Cricket

Betting strategy for a five-day match is completely different. There are three possible results including a draw, and pitch conditions and weather play an important role. Experienced bettors show more interest in series winner and session-based markets.

Three possible results

Football and Other Sports

Alongside cricket, jata sports betting also offers markets for football, kabaddi, badminton and a few other sports. Because football can end in a draw, the market structure is different from cricket — three possible results (home win, away win, draw) are all priced together. In limited-overs cricket formats there is no draw, so the head-to-head market is more straightforward. In other sports, session-based or round-based markets are more common.

Popular Betting Markets — what you can bet on in each

Several types of betting markets are available in the jata cricket section. Below is an introduction to seven common markets.

Match Winner

Which of the two teams will win — this is the simplest market. In T20, the prices for Team A and Team B change according to how the match is going. If you are just starting out with betting, this is a good market to begin with.

Toss Winner

Who will win the toss before the match starts — the result in this market is entirely independent, and the prices for both teams are usually close. It is a good option if you want a quick result.

Top Batsman

Which batsman from a team will score the most runs in an innings or across the whole match — this market requires you to consider the team's batting order and pitch conditions.

Total Runs (Over / Under)

Whether the runs scored will be more (over) or less (under) than a set target — in this market you do not need to pick a specific team, you just give your view on the run total.

Multi Bet

Placing a bet that combines the results of multiple matches is a multi bet. If all selections are correct, the total odds multiply to give a larger return. Example: decimal odds of three selections 1.40 × 1.60 × 1.80 = 4.03, meaning a ৳100 bet returns ৳403 if all win. But if even one is wrong, the full stake is lost.

Top Wicket Taker

Which bowler will take the most wickets in the match — pitch type and bowling order play an important role in this market. It is particularly popular in Test and ODI matches.

Man of the Match

Who will receive the best player award at the end of the match — this is a specific market where you bet by considering the likelihood of strong performances with both bat and ball.

How to read odds — three formats explained simply

On any sports betting platform, odds can be shown in three ways — decimal, fractional and American. jata generally uses decimal format, but knowing the other two helps you understand any platform.

Format Price for Team A to win Return on a ৳200 bet
Decimal 3.00 ৳600 (৳400 profit + ৳200 stake)
Fractional 2/1 Same — ৳600 total return
American +200 Same — ৳600 total return

Example: Team A's winning price at decimal 3.00 = fractional 2/1 = American +200. A ৳200 bet on Team A winning returns ৳600 (৳400 profit + your ৳200 stake); if you lose, ৳200 is gone.

If a team's price is 1.25 in decimal, that is 1/4 in fractional and −400 in American (American minus odds mean how much you need to stake to win ৳100 profit). In that case a ৳200 bet returns ৳250 (profit of only ৳50).

Live betting is on

Live In-Play Betting — odds change with every wicket and over

You can place bets even after the match has started — that is live or in-play betting. In cricket the situation changes after every ball, so odds update quickly. When a wicket falls, the batting team's price rises; after a big six, it falls. If you can keep up with that pace, live betting is a different kind of experience. Keep in mind though — there is less time to decide in live markets, so knowing the markets in advance helps.

When a wicket falls

Losing wickets quickly pushes the batting team's Match Winner odds up. At that moment the bowling team's price drops and the market becomes more active.

During the powerplay and final overs

Just before the powerplay ends and in the last five overs, the total runs and next-over runs markets are most active.

Fast updates

Scores and odds update in near real-time on the jata live betting panel. The same is available for late-night IPL matches watched from Dhaka.

Useful tips for getting started with betting

Cricket betting is a form of entertainment, not a game of strategy. Keeping the following points in mind makes for a better experience.

  • Understand one market well before moving to another. Starting with Match Winner is the easiest.
  • Set your budget before you start and stay within that limit. Betting is for enjoyment — you should not place more bets trying to recover losses.
  • In live betting, read the market rather than rushing. Before making a quick decision, look at the current score and odds together.
  • Adding many selections to a multi bet increases the potential return, but getting all of them right becomes harder. It is better not to go beyond three or four selections.
  • For responsible betting, read jata's responsible gaming policy — it has details on self-limits and break features.
  • For any questions about opening an account, depositing or withdrawing, jata's 24/7 live chat support team helps in Bangla.

Football and other sports beyond cricket

Football is also gaining notable popularity at jata sports betting. Demand rises especially during international tournaments and the Premier League. In football, markets beyond Match Winner include handicap, both teams to score and correct scoreline.

Compared to cricket, a draw in football is a real result, so the betting structure is different. Handicap or over/under markets are used most in this case.

If you want to enjoy casino games alongside cricket and sports betting, jata Live Casino offers table games from Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live and Ezugi — where you can play directly with real dealers. For fast-paced crash games, check out the Go Rush section.

Cricket Betting FAQ

Yes, live in-play betting is available on BPL, IPL and international T20 matches at jata sports betting. Odds update with each wicket and over during the match, and multiple markets stay active throughout.

Multiply the decimal odds directly by your stake to get the total return (including stake). Example: Team A's odds are 3.00, you bet ৳200 — if you win, 3.00 × ৳200 = ৳600 back (৳400 profit + your ৳200 stake). If you lose, your ৳200 is gone. Fractional 2/1 and American +200 show the same outcome, just in a different format.

In Test cricket, three results are possible — Team A wins, Team B wins, or a draw. So the Match Winner market offers three options to bet on. In T20 or ODI there is generally no draw, so only two options are available. Keep this difference in mind when comparing odds.

Yes, a multi bet generally allows you to add selections from different matches or different sports together. If all selections are correct, the odds multiply to give a larger return. Three selections with decimal odds 1.40 × 1.60 × 1.80 = 4.03, so a ৳100 bet returns ৳403 if all win — but if even one is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost.

If a match is abandoned or cancelled, the betting platform decides based on its own rules — typically the stake is refunded or that selection is removed from a multi bet and the rest is recalculated. Read jata's terms and conditions for the specific rules.
